Special Air Service (SAS) is the main special body of the British Army. This unit was founded in 1941 (second in time only to the Italian Comsubin) in North Africa to carry out raids against the Axis lines, and is today a model for many other special forces around the world. The SAS is the smallest and most secretive regiment in the UK but at the same time one of the most popular. The SAS counterpart in the Royal Navy is the Special Boat Service (SBS), formerly called the Special Boat Squadron. Their motto is "Who Dares Wins", "Who Dares Wins"
