The Military Academy of Modena is a university-level military training institute of the Italian Army located at the Palazzo Ducale in Modena. The Academy has the task of proceeding with the initial university training of future officers of the normal role of the Italian Army and the Carabinieri in a course of study that lasts two years for the main courses.

The Military Academy of Modena derives from one of the oldest military training institutes in the world, as it derives directly from the Military Academy of Savoy founded on 1 January 1678 with a decree of 1 September 1677 of the Duchess Maria Giovanna Battista of Savoy -Nemours, regent for the minor age of his son Vittorio Amedeo.
