Chirrut Îmwe was a blind Human male born on the desert moon of Jedha in 52 BBY. He was a Guardian of the Whills, a warrior-monastic order active on Jedha during the age of the Empire. After escaping from his hometown, the sacred city of Jedha City, Chirrut, along with his friend and protector Baze Malbus, became part of a rebel group that attempted to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire's superweapon. Chirrut died during the mission, on Scarif, while attempting to assist Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor in their attempt to infiltrate the Imperial base on Scarif.
