Rat-Man, alter ego of Deboroh La Roccia, is a fictional character, protagonist of a comic book series of the same name, created by Leo Ortolani in 1989, which debuted the same year in a supplement of the magazine L'Eternauta. The character was welcomed with success by the public and critics, becoming in a few years a cult phenomenon in Italy and considered one of the most successful and humorous characters in the Italian comics scene.
Over time, the author has deepened the character's personality within more complex and articulated plots in which the protagonist has acquired various facets, becoming in some respects a tragic hero who effectively manages to embody the common man without losing his demented and at the same time intelligent humor.
