Robin, in Italian pettirosso, is a comic book character, published by DC Comics. He is the young assistant of Batman. He made his debut in the pages of Detective Comics n. 38 of April 1940, where he wore a costume consisting of a red bodice, yellow cape, long drawers, green gloves and boots and the classic black mask over his eyes. Robin, created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane (inspired by the figure of Robin Hood for the costume), represents everything that is sunny and light in the life of the Dark Knight, who thus became the first superhero to have a teenage assistant. Introduced to make the stories, previously crude and dark, lighter and more easily accessible to a teenage audience (note that until the introduction of the character Batman did not capture criminals but killed them), Robin, in all his incarnations, has always been the protagonist of great adventures, often epochal and fundamental in the career of Batman himself.
