Clone troopers are a fictional military force in the Star Wars science fiction universe. They are introduced in the film Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and subsequently appear in the films Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and numerous novels, comics, and video games based on the franchise.


Clone troopers are human replicas based on the genetic material of the bounty hunter Jango Fett. Under the command of the Jedi, they are employed by the Galactic Republic in the Clone Wars, the conflict that takes their name, against the droid armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. At the end of the war, Palpatine, who had tampered with the microchips implanted in the clones, orders them to execute Order 66, killing the Jedi. After the transformation of the Republic into the Galactic Empire, the clones go on to form the nucleus of the new military order of the stormtroopers and are then gradually retired in favor of human recruits and clones originated from other models.


In the films, the clones are played by Temuera Morrison as adults, Daniel Logan as children, and Bodie Taylor as young men. In The Clone Wars and Rebel, they are voiced by Dee Bradley Baker as adults and Logan as children.
