PARACHUTE ADRENALINE: Qualls was not just any policeman, but a veteran paratrooper, who had declared that he wanted that kind of car just to make up for the nostalgia for that adrenaline rush that only a jump out of a flying airplane can give. The 'phantom cop' remained a legend in the Detroit street racing scene for decades, even though no one knew his real name. He raced, a lot, of course, but always keeping his identity secret and feeding the aura of mystery.

FORTY MINUTES OF LEGEND: It wasn't until many years later, when he asked for help to restart the Challenger, that people began to learn about him as well, as well as the incredible story behind the car.
